Qurultay 2012
Welcome to the website of Danish-Kazakh Society. We are very pleased to announce that European Kazakh Qurultay 2012 is to be hosted in Aarhus, Denmark.
Qurultay is Kazakh word for cultural and festival assembly, which is being organised every year in a different city in Europe. The recent years the host city of Qurultay has been Västerås (2011), Vienna (2010) and London (2009). This coming year Qurultay is going to be organised by Danish-Kazakh Society and would be held in Denmark, Aarhus.
The main purpose of Qurultay is on the one hand maintaining our cultural heritage, and on the other hand cultivates Kazakh traditions amongst youth Kazakhs. We sustain this purpose by arranging debates among young Kazakhs on how to maintain our cultural heritage. Furthermore, we also arrange Kazakh concert with famous Kazakh musicians in order to motivate the young Kazakhs to learn about Kazakh music traditions.
